The Details of FFXIV
Gameplay
When the first trailer for Final Fantasy XIII announcement came while the E3 in 2006, we got several glimpses of how the combat system will be in the game. It was at the same time mentioned that the combat system shown in the trailer, was an early version and will undergo further changes. Yet there were many who reacted to how fast and complex it worked. Began to wonder how this turn-based game’s battle system really was. To this Square Enix commented that the pace of the games would be relatively higher than in other Final Fantasy games, but the system was still turn-based.
The combat system is designed with inspiration from the fight scenes in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. As in Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XII enemies are visible in the surroundings, and thus there is an opportunity for the player to avoid them. It is also possible to see how much HP the enemy has. If you encounter an enemy you will be brought into battle mode. This mode is chopped less integrated into the exploration of the game than it was in Final Fantasy XII.
When in combat, one can quickly realize that you only control one person in three straight. In other words, Square Enix is little in the same direction as they did with Final Fantasy XII. Instead of Gambit has something called Optima system in Final Fantasy XIII. This system is to define the classes or parts of your companions. There is not much known about this system until now, but it seems like they have less control over their companions this time. We’ve tried the demo that came with Blu-Ray one of Final Fantasy Advent Children, but in the demo, Square Enix chose to drop to include the Optima system – probably because it was still in an early development phase.
Otherwise known Mon fast again Active Time Battle system, although this comes in a slightly different form than in previous Final Fantasy games. Now, the character’s actions do not necessarily consume the entire meter, but parts of it. This gives the player the ability to combine multiple attacks simultaneously. One can for example ask the Lightning completely uninterrupted conduct a Fire attack and two physical attacks with the sword. This brings the battle system an extra dimension when you have to ration what we have of “Cost Points (ATB points) in a timely manner. Later in the game, the ATB meter expanded, and one can then combine the even more actions.
Combined attack will also provide a damage bonus. So you may want to combine as many attacks you manage in such a short time as possible. Mon persists this damage bonus, the enemy can end up in a so-called “Break State. This is a condition where the enemy can no longer attack you and your attacks will take considerably more damage.
A new supply to the battle system is also the “Launch”. This is an attack that beats or throw the enemy into the air when the enemy is in “Break State. While the enemy is in the air, one can carry out more attacks and take significantly more damage.
MP or “Magic Point” is also totally removed from the gameplay, which is replaced by Cost Points. One can no longer use magic outside of battle. To compensate for this, all characters fully healed after each battle.
Summon, or Eidolon, also plays a central role in the battle system in Final Fantasy XIII. Each character has its specific Eidolon. When the character summons his distinctive Eidolon, leaving Thurs the 2nd companions struggle, and tilkalleren and Eidolon is again (like Final Fantasy XII). Final Fantasy XIII also offers a new mode called “Gestalt Mode” which merges tilkalleren and Eidolon in different ways. Shiva, for example, be converted into a motorcycle in plain Transformers-style, Snow then run. Odin in turn can be converted into a horse, Lightning can ride.
After the battle you get a list of match duration, how many “breaks” you have caused and the quality of the fight seen in a general light. The quality is reflected in a grade of 1-5 stars.
