The next day I learned my new company buddies get to know better. I soon found out that they both care a lot more helpful and quiet than first thought. Boss was also very nice and patiently explained to me everything I asked. Those of them who were Americans, were quite temperamental so that almost all Americans I have met in massive Online Games, but there were also some more sober-minded Danes and the Dutch there.
I learned quickly that in Eve is called “ratting”, where you kill Rompiratene shots for prizes. There was always some such to find around the asteroid belts, and both my Raven and my Drake was perfect for this purpose.
I also had the help of the developer to learn other new skills, for around Christmas time gave the developer CCP all the players a little gift. It was a tiny spaceship that was only equipped with a sondeutskyter. Probes could be used to scan a solar system to either find other eve isk players, or different places I was told was called complexes.
I had never scanned for anything before, but the process was incredibly interesting, and I learned how it should be done through a nice video they had made for beginners.
Scanning was like a little mini game in itself, and it was definitely a lot of fun though as most of Eve was quite confusing.
At first attempt I was able to scan forward a complex, and headed towards it to kill all the pirates I could find there. There was still a bit of a vepsebol I had found, and we did not break the pirates before I had been helped by both a Scimitar to heal my Drakes shields, plus even a Drake and a Megathron. Although the game was the same, life was out in 0.0, a totally different than what I had now seen by Eve.
